The Company is also developing the 50MW Jemalong Solar Project (JSP)\, located near Forbes in NSW. \n  \nSponsors: \n  \n\n\n\n \nBy finding solutions to complex challenges and opportunities\, John Holland transforms communities to make them easier to move around\, more connected and better to live in. We work in Australia\, New Zealand and South East Asia\, offering services from infrastructure and property development to rail and building. Some examples of projects currently being undertaken by John Holland in Queensland include the Sunshine Coast Airport Expansion Project and the Gold Coast Seaway project.\n \nMcConnell Dowell is the Creative Construction Company for clients who want to build better communities through safe\, smart\, efficient infrastructure. Since 1961\, we have built thousands of quality assets and facilities for clients and communities. Our expertise has grown steadily to span civil\, electrical\, fabrication\, marine\, mechanical\, pipelines\, rail\, tunnel and underground construction. Our culture is founded on expertise\, creativity and progressive thinking.\n\n\n\nGuest Speakers: \n \nSimon Kidston\nCo-Founder & Executive Director\nGenex Power \nSimon has an investment banking background with more than 25 years global experience with groups such as Macquarie Bank\, HSBC and Helmsec Global Capital.  Simon is a co-founder and Executive Director of Genex Power\, and has responsibility for project finance and business development.  Simon was involved in the funding arrangements for Stage 1 of the Kidston Renewable Energy Hub (50MW Kidston Solar Project)\, and is now engaged with banks and potential equity partners for Stage 2 (Integrated 250 MW Pumped Storage Hydro and 270MW Solar Project). He has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Griffith University\, a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment from the Securities Institute of Australia and is a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. \n \nMike Westerman\nSenior Technical Director Hydropower\nGHD \nMike Westerman has 40 years’ experience in delivering renewable energy projects\, with a focus on hydro. He has successfully delivered projects in 19 countries across Africa\, the Middle East\, and the broader Asia-Pacific region from Pakistan to Fiji. \nHydro project development is a complex and continually evolving multi-disciplinary activity involving projects that span large areas and timeframes. Conventional and pumped hydro schemes alike rely on large quantities of data. This data encompasses a wide range of revenue\, network\, geotechnical\, hydrological\, spatial\, geographical\, and human stakeholder information that must be collected and analysed to guide optimum project performance. \nThe digital revolution has made greater quantities of better quality data more readily available\, and has made it easier to identify and use the most appropriate data for each project. While this has led to improved productivity of hydro development operations\, it has also highlighted inconsistencies both in the data generated by different organisations and in data collection methods. \nAs a leader in the application of digital engineering to hydro projects\, GHD is constantly improving the collection and application of digital information to benefit stakeholders across all project levels and phases. In this presentation\, Mike will provide an overview of best practices and emerging trends across the full lifecycle of a variety of hydro projects. \n
