SUMMARY:QMCA Networking Breakfast - 26 November 2020
DESCRIPTION:Join us for our first post-COVID face-to-face breakfast at the Victoria Park Function Centre on Thursday 26 November at 7.00am. \n  \nAs well as hearing the industry latest news and having the opportunity to network with your peers from across the sector\, QMCA Associate Member\, E7\, will present the findings from the Digital Innovation & Collaboration in Infrastructure Survey. \n  \nThe construction and infrastructure industry is often criticised for lagging behind in the adoption of digital technologies and platforms\, but as we have seen throughout the COVID-19 pandemic\, our industry has embraced technology across all areas. From digital site sign-in to rapid remote mobilisation of back offices\, change has been adopted in our sector like never before. \n  \nAt this month’s breakfast\, Dr Adrian Smith\, Chief Technology Officer\, E7\, will outline the results of the survey and provide insights into the successes\, challenges and opportunities for our industry as we build for the future. \n  \nProductivity has not changed substantially in the construction sector since 1990\, when measured on an output for total dollar spent. Digital technology offers opportunities to achieve some productivity enhancements that can provide benefits throughout the entire life cycle of projects and from engineers through the supply chain into construction and onto operations and maintenance. \n  \nFollowing Adrian’s presentation\, there will be a panel discussion featuring prominent leaders from a cross-section from the engineering and construction community to discuss the challenges and opportunities for digital and technology improvements and adoption within the engineering construction sector. \n  \nAdrian is a co-founder of E7 and leads its ongoing development to ensure E7 stays at the forefront of construction industry technology advancements. He is a sought-after specialist in the application of Agile and Lean principles and practices in software engineering and business technology\, and is recognised as a leader in Lean Construction nationally.
