SUMMARY:QMCA Networking Breakfast 22 February 2023 - Economic Outlook
DESCRIPTION:Join QMCA and Cbus as we set the scene for Queensland and Australia’s economic outlook in 2023. \n2022 was a year that will be remembered for a series of rapid shocks to the economy with rising energy and fuel costs\, supply chain constraints\, increasing labour costs and IR changes creating challenging conditions for businesses and consumers alike. So\, what does 2023 have in store for Australia’s economy\, and how will that impact the construction and infrastructure sectors? Joining us will be Mark Ferguson and Dan Smith from Cbus\, who will outline the current macroeconomic environment\, market outlook and key investment challenges over the short to medium term. \nMark Ferguson Heads up the Total Portfolio Management team\, which encompasses Asset Allocation\, Capital Markets & Execution and Investment Options Management. Prior to joining Cbus\, Mark has spent over 20 years working in currency and asset allocation roles across funds management\, insurance and more recently superannuation. He also spent a small amount of time working for the prudential regulator\, APRA. \nDan Smith is a Portfolio Strategist in the asset allocation team\, where his work on economics and markets contributes to Cbus’ long-term portfolio construction and shorter-term positioning. Dan began his career at the New Zealand Treasury and then spent around a decade working as an economist in the banking sector before joining Cbus in late 2020. \nProudly Supported By:\n \nMaking hard work pay off \nCbus is the national industry super fund for the construction\, building and allied industries. \nAs one of Australia’s largest super funds\, Cbus is focused on providing strong retirement outcomes for members and helping employers manage their business superannuation needs. \nEstablished in 1984\, Cbus is run only to maximise returns to members\, and not profit to shareholders. \nCbus is also unique in that we invest back through Cbus Property#\, creating thousands of jobs and business opportunities in your industry. \nWith Cbus\, you can expect simple administration\, superannuation expertise and reliable service when and where you need it. \nThe super environment is ever-changing making it complex to navigate at times\, which is why we are here to support and keep you informed about legislative or other industry changes so you can focus on what you do best – building your business. \nVisit www.cbussuper.com.au or call 1300 361 784 to find out how Cbus can support your business super needs. \n#Cbus Property Pty Ltd is a wholly-owned subsidiary of United Super Pty Ltd and has responsibility for the development and management of Cbus’ direct property investments. \nThis information is about Cbus and doesn’t take into account your specific needs.
