Seymour Whyte - 2024 Logan NAIDOC Family Fun Day
On Tuesday 9 July, Seymour Whyte’s Brisbane team had the privilege of participating in and supporting the 2024 Logan NAIDOC Family Fun Day, a community festival that marked the spirit of NAIDOC Week in the City of Logan. The event was a vibrant celebration of First Nations culture, filled with meaningful activities that resonated deeply with all attendees.
The day commenced with a Welcome to Country, setting a respectful tone for the festivities ahead. This was followed by a poignant flag raising ceremony, symbolising unity and respect for Australia’s First Nations peoples. One of the highlights was the smoking ceremony, which carries profound significance for cleansing and renewal in First Nations traditions.
Throughout the event, Logan Elders imparted wisdom and emphasised the profound importance of gatherings like these for healing and unity within the community. It provided a space for attendees to come together, share stories, and envision a future built on mutual respect and understanding.
