GHD played a crucial role in the design innovation for the $1.162 billion Bruce Highway Upgrade – Cooroy to Curra (Gympie Bypass) project, delivering 42 bridges over a 30-kilometre stretch.

The project involved collaboration with stakeholders such as the Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) and KBR. GHD’s innovative bridge designs, including 1,200 precast Super T Girders, shortened the design phase, saving approximately $50 million through value engineering. A standout achievement was the 45.6m single bridge spans over Six Mile Creek, preserving the local ecosystem.
