The Archer River Crossing project, jointly funded by the Queensland and Australian Governments, enhances road access in Far North Queensland.

McConnell Dowell, contracted by TMR, built a 230m bridge and 900m of sealed roads, significantly reducing wet-season closures from 88 to just 2 days.

The project incorporated innovative construction measures to protect significant cultural heritage in the area and further supported First Nations businesses with over $11 million in investment and 21,000 workforce hours.

Despite the significant logistical challenges of Archer River Bridge, close collaboration ensured completion before the 2024 wet season, improving connectivity for remote communities.

BMD Constructions delivered the Mount Crosby New Vehicle Bridge for Seqwater, enhancing flood resilience and traffic flow over the Brisbane River.

The 187-metre, dual-lane bridge replaces the old one-way structure, accommodating large vehicles with 2,220m³ of concrete and 400 tonnes of steel. Managing complex environmental and heritage challenges, BMD expertly coordinated construction in a constrained site.

With zero lost time injuries, 30,000 fish relocated, and $29 million injected into the local economy, the project showcases best-practice engineering, sustainability, and community impact.
