Brisbane Metro

ACCIONA

Brisbane Move, led by ACCIONA and Arup, partnered with Brisbane City Council to deliver key infrastructure for Brisbane Metro, a high-capacity bus rapid transit system.

This project exemplifies best practices in circular economy, innovation and community engagement. Achievements include extending Victoria Bridge’s life, pioneering excavation techniques and upgrading Brisbane’s Cultural Centre station. With a focus on sustainability, Brisbane Move has significantly reduced carbon emissions and waste.

This collaboration showcases how engineering and sustainability can enhance infrastructure and build new skills for the future.


Caval Ridge Mine Overpass Reconstruction

CPB Contractors

CPB Contractors delivered the Caval Ridge Mine Overpass Reconstruction for BHP Billiton Mitsubishi Alliance (BMA) ahead of schedule and on budget after a bridge strike.

The project involved demolishing and reconstructing Span 3, with key solutions like streamlined procurement, safety protocols, and early mobilisation. CPB and BMA aligned on vision and processes, enabling efficient delivery within a three-month timeframe. This collaboration has led to discussions about expanding their partnership, focusing on civil and maintenance works and streamlining procurement for future projects.


Pacific Motorway Eight Mile Plains to Daisy Hill Upgrade (Watland Street to Sports Drive Upgrade)

Bielby Holdings, JF Hull Pty Ltd

Bielby Holdings and JF Hull Pty Ltd, have partnered with the Department of Transport and Main Roads and Drive Engineering to deliver the Pacific Motorway Eight Mile Plains to Daisy Hill Upgrade.

Delivered as a TMR Construct Only contract, the project exemplifies collaboration, innovation and efficiency in delivering project outcomes. Key achievements include a six-month program saving on the M1 bridge, early Veloway openings, improved barrier designs and remains ahead of the projected completion date.

Roads to Change Program

Fulton Hogan Acciona

The Roads to Change (RTC) program, led by the ACCIONA-Fulton Hogan Joint Venture (AFHJV), empowers Indigenous and disengaged youths in Rockhampton. By combining on-the-job training, fitness, and personal development, RTC creates pathways to meaningful employment.

In its first year, 8 of 14 participants secured full-time jobs, contributing to a 21% decrease in youth crime. With continued success, the RTC model is set to expand, offering a replicable framework for community and industry collaboration to address workforce gaps and create lasting social impact.


The Toowoomba Regional Council 2022 Flood Recovery Program

Toowoomba Regional Council, Golding Contractors, Georgiou Group

The Toowoomba Regional Council 2022 Flood Recovery Program, a $300M initiative funded through DRFA, successfully restored flood related damage to over 1,500 roads and 2,500km of road network in just 14 months.

Partnering with Golding Contractors, Georgiou Group, and five local consultancies, the program achieved a 20% cost saving, exceeded local spending targets, and provided extensive upskilling opportunities.

With a strong collaborative framework, innovative materials, and transparent processes, the project set a new benchmark for disaster recovery, benefiting both infrastructure resilience and the local economy.


Fitzroy Barrage Fishway

Sunwater

Dozens of native fish species can now migrate more freely in the Lower Fitzroy River, thanks to Sunwater’s collaborative efforts in delivering a new fishway at the Fitzroy Barrage in Rockhampton.

As part of the Rookwood Weir Project, the innovative fish passage provides access to 545 hectares of habitat, ensuring environmental sustainability while supporting economic growth.

With key collaborators, including Rockhampton Regional Council, icubed consulting, Pensar and DPI, this project exemplifies teamwork, innovation and a shared commitment to protecting aquatic ecosystems for future generations.
