In an industry known for its generosity and support for community initiatives, QMCA members have once again dug deep to help support a charity close to their hearts. At the recent QMCA Innovation and Excellence awards over $1,000 was raised for Bio-Balance Health as we raffled a unique Tesla Owners Experience.
In the last year of his life, QMCA Past President Ian Harrington, got to know a BioBalance Health trained Doctor.
He became fascinated with the stories this doctor told him of mental health patients recovering through the prescribing of macro nutrients specific to the patient’s biochemical imbalances diagnosed through targeted medical testing.
Ian came to understand that triggering of much mental health issues came from the nutrient depletion caused by sustained stress, something he knew was a constant companion in the highly competitive, time poor and cash poor construction world.
Biochemically constant stress burns nutrients at a rate that even a great diet cannot replenish. In some cases, the imbalance becomes so marked that mental health issues surface.
Ian worked hard to mentor young engineers and support his staff through times of great stress, ensuring contracts were fair and communication lines were open.
QMCA is proudly continuing Ian’s legacy of supporting those in the industry and providing funds to a great cause he also invested in.
