Alex is a collaborator of the Brisbane-based Endeavour Programme and has recently worked with his colleague, Professor Bent Flyvbjerg, on a commission using Endeavour’s AI system to assist treasury cash flow forecasting for a major Asian government client. He is in Australia to present a course to the Victorian Major Projects Leadership Academy on delivering complex infrastructure projects.  Alex and Bent have consulted to many major projects with regards to applying their methodologies for Reference Class Forecasting, Contingency Safeguard, Black Swan projects, Smart Scaling, Early Warning Systems and Project Turnaround.  Examples of projects include Crossrail 2 (Tunnel Benchmarking), European Tunnel ($10B) risk assessment, M+ (Supersized museum building) risk assessment, Swiss Nuclear Waste Storage risk assessment, Edinburgh Tram project post-mortem, MTR (HK Metro) improved reporting and project turnaround.  In addition to his teaching and research commitments at the University of Oxford Said Business School, he regularly presents a leadership development programme for the top project managers in the UK civil service.

Dr Adrian Smith is an industry leader in adapting and applying Agile and Lean methods within software engineering and business technology. As a sought-after consultant, he has led and coached engineering and software development teams for major brands including Airbus, GKN Aerospace, BBC Worldwide, Suncorp, Nokia and Data#3.  Adrian is Co-Founder and Head of Engineering for Envision, an Australian software product development company. Envision is delivering technology advances for the construction industry, in particular, leveraging Lean and Agile methods to develop practical and innovative engineering solutions.  Adrian is regularly called on for his specialist experience, which spans industries including aerospace, banking, construction, digital media, engineering, insurance, mining and public infrastructure.
