Brisbane Metro is set to transform rapid transit across Brisbane when it opens in late 2024. A ‘turn up and go’ service, Metro will connect the city to the suburbs via 18 stations from Eight Mile Plains to Roma Street, and Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital to University of Queensland.
As we look ahead to 2032, exciting plans are in development as Brisbane City Council and the Queensland Government work together to plan future extensions to the service. Comprising 22 new stations, the proposed expanded service will cover the south to Springwood, east to Capalaba, and north to Carseldine. Both levels of Government are in agreement and will complete a ‘rapid detailed business case’ for submission to the Commonwealth for funding.
Cr Ryan Murphy, Councillor for Chandler Ward and Civic Cabinet Chair for Transport, will join us for breakfast to discuss Brisbane Metro, its launch, future developments, and its vital role in the future of public transport in Brisbane.
