Returning for a third year as a champion of the QMCA Innovation and Excellence Awards, Joel Martin, Managing Director of 4020 Consult, reinforced the significance of the association’s role in celebrating success and showcasing the talent that will lead the state’s future infrastructure success.
“We really appreciate the advocacy work and positive impact that QMCA has as a peak industry body,” said Joel. “Improving the industry for all participants is vital, and 4020 Consult loves to support QMCA, with these awards’ focus on innovation and excellence aligning perfectly with our business values. 4020 Consult’s support for the QMCA awards underscores their dedication to fostering innovation, recognising excellence, and nurturing the next generation of industry leaders.”
When asked about the entries submitted into their category this year, Martin expressed enthusiasm, stating, “Amazing, best ever! Every year, we are blown away by the high standard of entrants and their achievements. This year is no exception, and we will be celebrating and recognising a crew of talented young legends on Friday. We can’t wait to be involved.”
Joel highlighted the importance of supporting the 4020 Consult Emerging Professional Award, which recognises new and emerging professionals in the industry. “As Whitney Houston said, ‘I believe the children are our future.’ With unprecedented capacity challenges in our industry, we want to acknowledge the efforts of young professionals and ensure the best and brightest are attracted to and retained in our industry,” he explained.
Reflecting on the significance of industry awards, particularly in construction and infrastructure, Joel supported their role in promoting meaningful careers and highlighting positive achievements.
“We have all seen the pipeline of major projects set to transform Queensland in the next 5 years and beyond, and we know the pressure that the industry is on to attract and retain the people needed to support success. Highlighting the great things that happen in our industry helps to promote meaningful careers to new entrants or aspiring Infrastructure professionals, and we know that the team members recognised for their achievements will inspire more and more young people to enter the industry,” Martin stated.
“Anyone who knows me knows that I will always focus on the positive rather than dwell on challenges or perceived negatives; the awards give us a chance to do just that and have a bit of fun as a collective,” said Joel.
