The Board of Queensland Major Contractors Association today announced the resignation of CEO, Jon Davies, effective 1 July 2020. Mr Davies is departing to take up the role of CEO for the Australian Constructors Association.
Mr Davies has been CEO of the association since 2018 and during that time has driven QMCA’s transition into a vibrant and robust organisation known for its commitment to advocating for the industry, creating collaborative networks across the sector and increasing value and engagement for members and stakeholders.
QMCA Chair, John Kirkwood thanked Jon for his efforts, “Jon has been an integral part of QMCA and has much to be proud of as he departs. While we are sad to see Jon leave, we also recognise the opportunity for improved collaboration on national issues that Jon’s new role affords. On behalf of the Board and our members, we would like to thank Jon for his significant contribution to QMCA.”
“Our search for a new CEO commences immediately, and we will be seeking a leader who can build on Jon’s legacy, continue the exceptional work that our association has undertaken in recent times and help us to achieve our strategic goals into the future.”
“During the transition, it will be business as usual for QMCA as we continue to advocate for our members, provide leadership on the key issues that matter and build strong networks for collaboration and growth,” said Mr Kirkwood.
Mr Davies reflected on his time with QMCA and looks forward to working with QMCA into the future. “It has been a privilege to have been CEO of QMCA for the last two years, and it has been an honour to have represented civil infrastructure in Queensland.”
“We have achieved a great deal and have created an association that is truly reflective of our industry and members. I look forward to continuing to work with QMCA in my new role as we ensure that construction sits at the heart of the post-COVID-19 economy with benefits flowing to each state and territory,” said Mr Davies.
The Board is commencing the recruitment process for a new CEO and will provide further updates and announcements in due course.
