QMCA Welcomes Major Project Collaboration

QMCA is delighted that the Federal and State Government have reached an agreement to fund several key infrastructure projects in Queensland, fast-tracking works, securing employment and creating vital rail and road links that will support long-term economic growth.

CEO Jon Davies, “QMCA has long advocated for improved collaboration between all tiers of government, and we are delighted that the Palaszczuk and Morrison governments have reached agreement on the funding of key upgrades to the state’s road and rail infrastructure. We also welcome the news that the Intragovernmental Agreement for Inland Rail will be signed, meaning that work will be able to commence on a nation-building project, much of which will be delivered in Queensland.”

“The funding announced will be a huge boost to our sector and the wider economy through job creation in the design and delivery phases and for the long-term through improved road and rail links across the state. Our members look forward to receiving more details about funding schedules and exploring the full project list so they can mobilise their efforts to secure and deliver a much-needed boost to the economy and the state’s infrastructure.”

Projects earmarked for funding and fast-tracking include upgrades to the M1, the Bruce Highway and Gold Coast Light Rail Stage 3.
