Brisbane Metro Rochedale depot
Brisbane City Council
As part of the Brisbane Metro project, Brisbane City Council built a new 10-hectare depot to support Australia’s first all-electric metro fleet. The facility is on track to receive a 6-star Green Star rating.
The depot features fast and slow charging stations, a 1-megawatt solar system, and sustainable design practices.
Local industry participation was maximised, and environmental impacts were mitigated through rainwater harvesting, biodiversity planting, and energy-efficient solutions.
The depot will help to reduce emissions by 50,000 tonnes over 20 years, setting a new standard in sustainable public transport infrastructure.
