Dale Gilbert Lifetime Achievement Award
This award recognises the contribution Dale Gilbert made to infrastructure in Queensland. New for 2023, the award will recognise an individual for their outstanding career in infrastructure and for living up to the values Dale lived by. Finalists for this Award are selected by the lead judges from the award judging panels.
QMCA, its board and its members were deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Dale Gilbert, a true champion and leader in construction and infrastructure in Queensland and across Australia and New Zealand.
This new award acknowledges the leadership that Dale demonstrated throughout his highly successful career in construction and infrastructure. From his most recent role leading Ghella in Australia and New Zealand through his time at BMD and Theiss, Dale’s career was one of consistent achievement and success as he left his mark on the projects, organisations and people fortunate enough to have worked with him across the last three decades.
Dale’s desire to improve our industry, build sustainability and enhance opportunities for everyone involved in major projects from design to delivery was apparent at every meeting, event and function he attended, helping us to set the agenda for change and action the reforms that we wish to see across the sector.
Eligibility Criteria
Dale Gilbert Lifetime Achievement Award
The winner of this award will be selected by the QMCA Board and members of the judging panel. A professional from across infrastructure, design and engineering will be selected as the recipient of this Award, chosen for their embodiment of the values and passion Dale showed throughout his career in infrastructure.
